I’m beginning Tamiya’s 1/16 RC M4. I just primed, shaded and basecoated the lower hull and suspension parts (almost all aluminum and cast). I want to protect the paint from what will most likely be a fair ammount of abuse. Since it’s the lower hull, I’m not too concerned about losing detail so…
Should I apply a few coats of Future then some wash then clear dull or satin OR
Should I apply Future,wash then a few(or more) coats of clear?
Or any other ideas?

You might try your hand at a clear epoxy enamel that comes in a spray can, or even one of the two-part epoxy paints, except you would have to brush it on. Either way, when dry the material should be as hard as a rock. Granted, any paint can be abused, but the epoxy should last somewhat longer, and you should also be able to wash it (if you wanted) without it coming off. In addition, you may want to consider an epoxy primer before the epoxy topcoat/clearcoat.
