I use a soft, large paint brush to sweep all of the dust and things away from the corners.

I use canned air for cleaning electronics to clean the really tight spots on my models
For the future I would suggest building cases or finding a case to display your models. Something that is sealed and wont let the dust in. Any model I ever had that was left out on a shelf ultimately ended up in the trash because of dust and grime. About 10 years ago I started building cases for each of my models. They looks as good and clean today as they did when I finished them.
Dirt Devil makes a kit that attaches to a normal vacuum hose and sizes it down to micro attachments. Great for cleaning models, keyboards, etc. Plus this disposes of the dust instead of just displacing it. Only about $6-7, too. Check your local vacuum store.
