Classic Airframes

Hi guys,

I’ve seen some models of this company, but nobody told about the price of their kits. Cause you can’t find them here in Belgium.
Are their kits expensive? And what about Accurate Miniatures?

Cheers,

Jürgen

Classic Airframes is more expensive than Accurate Miniatures. Jules Bringuier of Classic Airframes makes some very nice models of some esoteric subjects. These are short run kits. Some of the older kits take a little more work than the newer ones. I can be more helpful if you can tell me which kit you are looking for. Accurate has been under new ownership for a few years now, these guys still sell the older kits (which are all very good) for pretty reasonable prices. The new kits are more expensive simply due to higher tooling costs. Again, if you can tell me which kits you are looking at I can be more specific.

I’m not the one who was originally enquiring, but since you mentioned it Swanny, I’ve been looking for a blenheim for awhile, is there a good place to search for those ?(possibly a Hudson as well)

I believe Airfix and MPM has a blenheim in 1/72. Tamiya has a Lancaster in 1/48 if you like them big. Squardon should carry them.

toomanyslurpees;
I have the arfix 1:72 blenheim, Classic airframes also makes a 1:48 kit.
Coincidentially, I bought the kit at Hobby City in the Crowfoot area in NW Calgary. I have also seen it at a couple other shops in Calgary recently. You should join the Canadian GB happening in September! That is why I got the arfix kit, I want to do one of the yellow and black bolingbroke trainers from the BCATP.
The Canadian GB is in this post:

Actually I did the CA Battle in the black and yellow scheme last year. I’m stuck on being a 1:48 guy which is unfortunate 'cause for building bombers of the RAF or RCAF it’s a little tougher. I do plan to get my hands on one of these FM 1:48 Halifaxes when they finally come out and I do have a dam buster lancaster from quite awhile back.

I’m interested in the CA Westland Whirlwind.
Can someone give me the url of the website of Accurate Miniatures,please?

Cheers,

Jürgen

On the Westland Whirlwind there is an old tool and a new tool. I have built the old tool and it was okay - took quite a bit of modeling skill to handle the fine PE and fit the cockpit installation. The new tooled kit, which is the one most commonly availible right now, should be a little easier. Also, here is a link to AM for you … http://www.accurate-miniatures.com/
