did the M1’s in Desert Storm have CIF panels? or are they relatively new?
No, not during Desert Storm. They came about during the mid 90s when I was a company commander. I want to say around 1993-1995 time frame.
R.G. is right. We used VS-17 Panels in Desert Storm.
Those are bright orange or violet rectangular cloth panels that are used to marks LZs ect. They have ties on them to secure them to the vehicle.
