Hi Everyone, another picece for you all, this time it’s a mostly scratched project.
Scratchbuilt building ruins/walls in a ton of rubble. (first attempt at doing a building all by hand) Figures are from Dragon’s pak kit, with an Italeri Fallshirmjager figure running to the wounded’s aid I replaced the head (which was insanely huge) with a spare from one of my Dragon 10th anneversary kits. The statue was chipped up with a Dremmel tool, and everything got a wash, drybrushed and a ton of Mig’s brick dust.
Enjoy!
Kelly
Wow, that is excellent. The weathering is superb and the rubble is great. Thanks for sharing. Now you just need a fig with a Panzerfaust on the 2nd story. [;)]
Thanks guys!
I did debate about having someone on the 2nd floor, but opted against it at the last moment. The statue is a resin piece puchased at Michaels for under 5 bucks. And following leads from some of Verlinden’s pieces I scratched brick sections for rubble to add bigger pieces to the scene.
A quick tip for all of you: To make the mortar that is seen on the broken edges of the building, I simply make a mix of fine rail ballast, flat gull grey enamel (Testors) and make a paste out of it, I take a big old brush, and slather it on the brick edges. Once dry, it stays in place, add your washes, and drybrush.
Supert job! The overall dio is weathered and dusted very well, and imparts a sense of balance between the elements.
Hehe, I know what you mean about the Italeri heads. I had a couple of their figure kits, and they look quite ridiculous [:)]
LOL, I know, some of those Italeri heads looks like they’ve had a starring role in Shaun Of The Dead! A newer item I’ve been adding into my rubble comes from xmas the year before last, I was in Micheals and Russ had pointed out about the xmas village stuff that was out, and I found a bag of gravel for the villiage stuff, but it’s perfect for rubble, it’s brick coloured and I just add it to my mix of other rubble bits!
