chowhound my entry into the bomber build. the first submitted pics.

well here i am. sitting here in the dark. pondering the six hours spent putting copper wire and guage wire into the interior of my fortress. and wondering if i should post them. hmmm what do you think? should i post them or not?

hmmm still undecided on what to do.

joe

You guys always impress me with the detail work you do. Where do I find the thin wire your using? I build 1/48 scale, and want to do some serious detail.[8D]

i used copper wire found in an old telephone cord. i also used 28 guage wire. all it takes is imagination.

joe

Well, there’s no doubt about it; fine wire instalation really makes the realism come alive! You’ve done an excellent job up to now, and i can’t wait to see it start taking shape, bravo!! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

lookin’ good Joe, keep up the good work bubba. next time you post the pics, make sure they are wider than they are tall, that way they will blow up properly when we click on them. if you have a photo editing program, you can crop them a tad to make them wider than they are tall. thanks for the peek, but i wish i could blow them up and really see the detail friend. later.

Nice looking interior, fightnjoe ! Those Monogram kits really cry to be detailed with wiring. I like the seat at an angle in the radio room. Nice touch ! The control cables also look. They are very visible from the waist windows.

Keep up the good work !

wow joe… really really good.

Impressive work.

Joe you’ve done justice to the kit with your added detail.

Glen

thanks all. unfortunately the pics are poor. most were with the web cam because it has a much better zoom than my digi cam. i havent mastered the art of taking pics so i do apologize for that. i have just a few more to add and then on to the wheel wells to get some detail there.

thanks again for all the kind words.

joe

Nice work Joe

Thad

Looking very good, Joe!

Looking good joe. Will you be making a bomb bay for her?

as nice a touch as is your handy work…
by jove, yer gett’in it…
oh yeah…post the piics…LOL

Nah Joe, don’t post em. Just kidding [:)]. Looking good Joe. Nice work with the wire.

Regards, Rick

Great work Joe! I’ll bet your eyes were sore after doing all that great detail work, weren’t they [;)][:D]!

thanks so much for the kind words. bob i am not planning to do the bomb bay on this kit as it is hidden. but a future build will have working bombbay doors and working lights. i know i am a bit nuts. oh and the stand will be a mirror so that the bomb bay doors will be visable.
dean the fingers hurt more than the eyes. although it did take a while for my eyes to adjust again.

again thankyou so much for the kind words.

joe

So good too see someone else…errr…some doing better rendition of Chowhound than mine. Girls were a dime a dozen when it came to nose art. Can’t argue with nose art of mans best friend.

Looking forward to the end result joe!

good lookin bird so far

Looks great Joe. Adding the wiring detail sure takes it to another level. What kind of hours were involved in the actually fabrication of your detail parts, and installation? And do you have some method that makes this chore possible for the average builder? Thanks for sharing, look forward to seeing additional updates. semper fi, mike
