Chopped 41" long, Lonestar International custom semi cab & trailer w/ pics. Painted and DONE.

When there’s nothing else to do in the wintertime [Y],

a project can start out looking like this…

…and then somewhere along the line, it begins looking like this.

And then the vision…and “fun”… begins to escalate!

The front fenders needed to be lengthened at the rear side.

The lengthened front fenders are in primer.

Finally, some imagination.

Really impressive. Interesting to watch you build the chassis.

Great stuff! More please

I know some would call this “cartoony”, but I think it looks sick. Your work and skills is most impressive. Looking forward to seeing more.

BK

Fascinating work! You have my attention.

Thanks guys.
The fun is just beginning.

Time for a little head-scratching and more imagination [I].

When I build customs, I like to finish the inside as well as the outside to look like the parts just came out of the box.

A little more work, but it makes the build “clean”.

Thinking out-loud. Should I ??

Interior parts and panels “chopped”, to match the outside.

Sometimes when I build, I have a picture in my head. This time it’s as I go, with a flash of imagination from time to time.

Major surgery there! Looking very sharp

Thank you keavdog [Y].

As I said earlier, I like to finish the backside of things too. So the front fenders get the same treatment after being lengthened.

Cab is fairly good now, so it’s time to start looking at the beginning of the chassis and engine pieces.

The truck will be rear-engined with 2 Allison engines with 2 top-mounted blowers, and 2 front-mounted turbo-chargers - all chrome. The 2 chassis in the center are what the engines originally fit in, so they will be trimmed to the right size.

Both Allison engines will be custom-built, and look like this with the turbo-chargers on the front of the engine, but will have 2 6-71 super-chargers on top.

Everything you see is from the 1969 thunderbird race car kit.

This is one of the custom-built Allison engines partially assembled and test fitted into the untrimmed 1969 Thunderbird chassis.

And here are both partially custom-built engines sitting side by side, and being test fitted in their untrimmed chassis.

Everything on the front of the engine is custom-built matching turbo-chargers.

This is where the chassis design begins.

Wow those motors are pretty - any P-51B link here

More imaginative thing. What if…?

Both chassis will have to be narrowed.

Stock frame assembled for more thinking.

I THINK this may get a little “NUTZ” [:|].

This Car Hauler might be just what it needs with the custom resin dual fenders.

Very pleasing to the eye almost like those stream line trains of the 40’s

Never thought of that, but your right.

And I l LOVE those trains of the '40s.

I want to build one someday.

Thank you keavdog.

I am a “Bling freak” [8-|].

Cars that are slammed are cool but this is on a whole other level. WOW I like the creativity and the “semi”, (small pun[bgr]), rat rod look. If I were to see a real truck chopped I would wanna do a full walk around to take it all in.

Getting better all the time. Outstanding work. [t$t] [t$t]

Thanks, guys [Y]

The dual chassis’ have been narrowed to fit the cab and begin the chassis’ design.

The design and construction will be day-by-day.

Time for more thinking and imagination.

Looks like you really did “go to town” with those engines! What dou you have there - some 3000 hp, right?

In my very humble opinion the rear axles should be regular width (better for the torque!) and the chassis longer, essentially a longer frame - in reality this would also help with avoiding getting the front wheels off the ground.

Good luck with your build and have a nice day!

Paweł

Thank you Pawel.

Once again I am thinking with “pictures”, and with pieces, LOTS OF PIECES !

Maybe I use some?

Maybe I use ALL?

Maybe it will turn into a MONSTER of a build??

Possibly??

Hmmmmmmmmmm. [^o)] Vedddddddy Intedesting.

Got the basic frame put together and some fitting done. Time for more thinking.

Now it’s time to work on the double engine cradle.

The engine cradle needs a lot of modifying.

Here it’s been notched so these two parts will nest and have more glue surface and can’t twist.

And the 2 parts are glued together, and the seems are starting to be cleaned up with filler.
