Chocolate spark plug

I wanted to try this putty and it said it was food safe so I borrowed a spark plug from work and went for it.

Microwaved some chocolate chips and poured them into the mold.

There were a few bubbles, but I didn’t prep the mold in any way. I ruined it when I tried to cut off the flash. My hand melted right into the plug. Oh well. In future I would put it in the fridge before any manipulation. But this was just a quick impromtu project. The plug was gone about a minute after this picture was taken. It was yummy. [:P]

I could see cylinder head temperatures being an issue.

Alumilite is good industrial strength stuff. Try making a two sided mold with a casting riser ans a vent.

Hey Mark… that is a fun test. Thanks for sharing.

The perfect Easter basket gift for that gearhead on your list!

Mark… one more thought. First… brush on a layer and work the chocolate into the grooves and such. Then, pour the mixture after. This should eliminate the bubbles. Then, most importantly, ship it to my house for testing.

Thanks for the responses guys. It was a fun diversion. I’ll have to fiddle with it some more.

Great for pranking, too! Your spark plug could pass for a piece of poop, too. You could have all kinds of fun with your molds and some chocolate. [;)]

Ahh yes, the infamous Baby Ruth. I have heard about that movie for years, yet never seen it. Maybe I’ll check Amazon.

haha, Great idea [I] [Y] [B]

You’ve never seen “Caddyshack”?! Yes, you should look for it and watch it. It’s a great silly comedy, with lots of great performances. Bill Murray’s Carl Spackler became an icon, and Ted Knight was funny without even realizing it. It was Harold Ramis’ debut as a director. And it introduced Rodney Dangerfield to a whole new generation, re-launching his career. It’s definitely worth tracking down and watching, if not buying for your movie collection.

It’s in a line of movies where I have seen bits and pieces, but not the whole thing. Blues Brothers being at the top. I took care of Dr Detroit last weekend. [:)] Picking away at it…

Well ;

I will need twelve of them for the Cake built engine heads and block .Whatta great idea for a gear-head birthday cake ?

That would be a neat cake.[::DD0]

Hi;

I would have difficulty with it though . Do you eat the Tranny first or the Turbo on the valley of the heads ?
