Chinese ZLC-2000

Well here is my newest installment, just finish Hobby Boss’s ZLC-2000 and I have to say this kit was a real gem to build. The kit built was built almost out of the box; the only thing I replaced was the kit smoke grenade launchers with metal ones from Voyager. I only had one fit issue around the front of the bow when mating the two halve together. However, that was an easy fix with some putty and sanding. I had to replace a few welds around the turret as the sprue gates fell right onto the welds, for this, I used Archer surface detail. My only real complaint about the kit is the vinyl tracks, I’m not a big fan of these kind of tracks as the only paint I use is acrylic paint and this kind of paint didn’t want to stick the tracks all that much. Next time I will use some enamel primer from a rattle can before painting. For the paint, I used a mixture of Vallejo and Tamiya for the base coat and the usual Mig filters, washes, and pigments. I wanted to keep the weather down as these a new vehicle and do not see the rigors of combat “YET”. I wanted the tank to have a dusty look to it and the chips to the minimal, as I do not know the quality of Chinese paint and if it is anything like our CARC paint; then there would not be a whole lot of chipping going on. Other than that, another model done and added to my collection, I cannot wait to build my next one from Hobby Boss and I highly recommend this little beauty to everyone.

Another interesting and beautiful build, kruppw![Y] Haven’t seen this one built up before, so it certainly is a treat to see one built so nicely. So any word on what’s next on the workbench?

Thanks mg.mikael, this was a nice little model to build up. I haven’t seen many myself that have been built up, there are a few over on armorama that have been built, but not many. Next on my list is a M35 with quad .50’s, this one has been on my bench since 2002 or should I say my storage shed.

Would definatley love to see a WIP from you on one of your future builds perhaps even your next one, the M35.[H]

Nicely done. I really like the weathering.

Me too…

Excellent everything about theh finished model looks great, congrats.

Terry.

Nice! You’ve got some very impressive weathering going on there.

I’ll second Mg’s comments, very nice build on something you don’t see everyday. I like the weathering, befitting to modern armor - dirty but maintained.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. These great comments help to motivate me to complete more models instead of bouncing around on diffferent builds. I also just ordered the new Leopard 2A6M CAN from hobbyboss and can’t wait to get my hands on this beast for my next project
