Check out this amazing Dio from AMPS

Titled Berlin meets East Africa. Or something close to that. The gentleman, a Mr. Lee, sculpted all the figures except two and all the animals. Enjoy.

In ‘AFV Modeller’ , issue 19, page 46; there are several pictures of this diorama. It won 'Best of Show at the 2004 Euro Militaire contest. Great idea!

Zoo breakout!!! Watchout for the lion. Love the monkey hanging out on the lamp post.

COOL!

Wo, I almost missed him!
Great dio- really fun to look at.

[:D] great dio,no wonder it won.[:D]

Talk about different. Very original, based on fact. I read about the fighting around the zoo in a book and a hippo or elefant was found impaled by a mortor or some round. Excellent dio.

Incredible!
The lion was intentionally made to look thin because the zoo was neglected in Berlin.

In my gallery I have pictures of the new one he did that was called “Streetfight” and a 1/6 tiger that someone built also, WOW!

MY AMPS PICS HERE

I believe that the historical facts behind this were discussed at length when the dio first appeared. I think the consensus was that the Berlin zoo population had been shrunk to that barest minimum and that the variety of exotic animals portrayed is Mr. Lee’s artistic license. Nonetheless, it is a masterpiece!

Unique and well executed idea. Nothing wrong with a little artistic license, and that is one awesome dio. Thanks for the photos.

tht is such an awesome build!!! the creator must have some creativity to create tht scene so well. hard to believe it actually happened

Now thats something you really dont see in a military Dio!!! [:O][:D]. Great work on all the animals and of course the monkey on the lamp post seems to be the favorite item on this post…LOL[:D][:D]. Also great work on the tank and the ruined buildings as well. The damaged street car really adds to the whole scene as well. [tup][tup]

Excellent!!! Thanks for sharing.
