As one of the last stages in remodeling my office/hobby room, I finally got around to installing some glass shelving. The original plan was to create a glass shelf surrounding the perimeter of the room, mounted high to display models or my stash on. Since I hung the pictures, I’ve decided just to do it on the two opposing walls. Here are some shots of the shelves above my bench:

The best part of this is how inexpensive it was. I had the glass shop cut two shelves at 12"X60", which ended up being $52.00. Then I got 7 8X10 shelf brackets for just under $1 each. Total cost of shelf project was $60. Time to install, 30 minutes or so.
What I really like is the sense you get of being in the hobby shop. Looking up at the kits all neatly displayed is great motivation. Hope you all like the pics.
I do like what you,ve done. NOW,I intend to repurpose the sides ,top, and shelves that originally was a put -together home entertainment center(WAL-MART) the thing is it will work great for most of my ships AND I have a very nice 24 car display case to blend in with it. again,nice job. i have both of those ARIZONA posters in my study also have 3 of tom freeman’s ARIZONA prints and both of the big pearl harbor informational posters from the park service.
Yeah, I picked up a bunch of Arizona schwag when we were in Hawaii getting married in 2003. Still got a box of stuff in the closet I haven’t put up on the walls yet. That Arizona memorial is one of the most moving places I’ve ever been to.
