Charter Issue Of FSM

Hi,

I have a charter issue of Fine Scale Modeler Magazine and was wondering what the going rate would be if I wanted to sell it. I ws thinking of putting it on Ebay. Any thoughts?

Part with a charter issue of FSM–SELL one? I’m shocked that anyone would even contemplate doing this! [:0] Do your children (or other heirs) know you’re about to dispose of the most valuable portion of their inheritance? Be careful: they may never forgive you. [;)]

For Shame, I hope your grandmother is’nt up for sale too! LOL
But if you must part with it, make sure it goes to a subscriber of FSM, something of
this value should not be allowed to leave the family[;)]

Gee … I am surprised that he didn’t want to sell a copy of the issue of FSM that came just before the Fall 1982 “Charter Issue”

Yes, I am talking about the very rare “Trial Issue” from the Spring of 1982 … that WAS the very first issue of FSM … I just happened to pick one up off the magazine rack at my local super-market … I very much liked [:D] what I saw … and waited for the “Charter Issue” to come out.

When the “Charter Issue” of FSM came out in the Fall of 1982 I snatched it off that same magazine rack at the Jewel store in Springfield, IL and have been a subscriber ever since. [:)]

I for one wouldn’t consider selling any of them … I often refer back to them … they are a great modeling tool.

Here is hoping that IF you sell your “Charter Issue” copy of FSM, it is purchased by some deserving scale modeler! [8)]

On that note anybody want about ten years worth lets say, errrrrr $100.00 plus shipping? also I have 4 binders.

Big Jake …

I think we were just giving you some good natured ribbing …

By all means, if you want to sell your FSM magazines then eBay would be the place to do it … eBay is a great place to buy and sell hobby magazines.

Good luck,

Oh my feelings are not hurt, I can tell a joke from a serious insult, I just need to raise some money to finish an old truck, and I no longer want my collection. You should see the model I just aprted with! Got a bunch more to go.

Apologies anyway Big Jake. Ya kinda got pounced on at the door!

If you have kits to sell, post a list on the site (with FSM’s permission of course)
I don’t think you’ll have a problem parting them out, and ya know they’ll go to good homes[;)]
Don’t think of it as giving up the hobby, just tell everyone you’ve decided to move up to “Full Scale”

What kind of truck, fix up or full restore?

Hey, wait a minute, you sold them…[:o)]

And besides, better that he sells it than using it to line his bird cage… I have mine framed…

I’m restoring a 1960 GMC fleetside with a rare 305 V-6 , Detroits very first V-6 engine. I have put a link so you can see the restored engine in my shop. and a link to learn about the engine.
