hey I know that this is really trivial, but can the FSM webmeister do something to stop the icons toolbar from popping up three seconds after you’ve started typing in a post and zapping your words into the cornfield from the twilight zone?

If I were you I’d check to see if pop up Spyware isn’t causing this first. Also make sure this isnt happening on other online forum boards or web sites. I dont think it’s FSM and it just might be a nasty little piece of malware that somehow may have found it’s way from the Internet to your PC.

How long does it take for the toolbar to display? I know I would have to be pretty quick to start typing before it came in. The only thing I can suggest is to wait until it does appear before typing. Don’t try to start typing before it’s there otherwise you’ll keep losing what you typed when it finally does.
I know EXACTLY what you are talking about, and it is
way annoying. But, as a web author myself, I don’t think
that there is much that can be done about it, except to
removing the entire text-formatting toolbar altogether.
Best to just wait until the page loads before typing.
That happens to me sometimes too. I now just wait a second or two for the bars to load before I click in the box and start typing. You get used to it pretty quick that way.
FSM just needs to keep in mind two words - load time - and the fact that some of us out in the hinterland still use dial-up because it’s either all that’s available or all that we can afford.
