Challenge to FSM Staff

Ok guys and gals of FSM. And I’m talking about the staff here.

After reading through a few threads we know that Lawrence built a T34, David builds figs for war gaming and his wife builds NASCAR kits, and Matthew Usher likes classic cars.

But I ask you … where are the pics !!!

Yes, Matthew has posted his a couple of times, but what about you Lawrence, and you David. Come on, it’s time you posted some of your works for the rest of the on-line family to see.

Come on guys and gals … show us your stuff !!!
Your family awaits.

P.S. If you’re having trouble figuring out how to post pics here, I’m sure one of us will be more than happy to step in and help.[;)]

Great challenge, Robert. I’m kinda interested to see them, myself! Of course, no one has ever mentioned that I haven’t posted any pics, either…

Yeah, show us the stuff! Talking about models is not making models… LOL

Would you? I’ve been having a tough time figuring that out. [:I]

I was a bit concerned about what this thread was going to be about when I saw that title. [;)]

What … no pics yet David !!!

Well, Dave, that’s the first challenge. The easy bit… We’ll come up with more, do not worry!

Hey, I’m working at the moment. [:)]

First of all, thanks for asking!

As I mentioned in another thread, most of the modeling I’ve done in the last seven years or so has been for FSM or our sister publication, Scale Auto. The magazine-related projects fill up most of my modeling time, but I’m trying to squeeze in a few just-for-me projects when I can.

Here’s a random assortment:

AMT/Ertl’s “Star Wars” Millennium Falcon

AMT/Ertl’s “Star Wars” Droid Fighter

Williams Brothers’ 1/48 scale Ford Flivver

Modelhaus’ 1/25 scale 1959 Pontiac covertible

Revell’s 1/24 BMW Z8

I hope you like them!

Matt Usher @ FSM

Another nice looking model Matthew…one problem though! When I see it I want to cry…LOL wish I still had the toy!(referring to the Millineum Falcon) You know how much model stuff could be had by trading that bad boy in for some $$$$$
Chris

As I mentioned in the other thread … great stuff Matthew !!!

The Pontiac certainly stirs some memories of my younger days when my dad had one.

Thanks again for sharing !!!

Thanks again!

I built the Pontiac for Howard Hoerl, who’s a manager in the advertising department here at Kalmbach. His wife used to drive a '59 Pontiac, and he had me build a replica of her car, and gave me a few old snapshots to use as reference. He gave it to her as an anniversary present, if I remember correctly.

I love building replicas for people. It’s very rewarding. I have a great “thank you” note from her pinned to the bulletin board over my workbench. It’s better than any contest trophy.

Matt

Incredible job on the Falcon, Matthew. I’m still stuck trying to figure out the Lego version, and here you go and light it all up!
BTW, a bit of a SW fan, are you?

demono69

Thanks!

Yep, I’m a Star Wars fan, but I do tend to lean more toward the three original films. They’re a little more fun, I think.

My Falcon has Falcon Kits’ cast-resin side panels, and a LightSheet engine and cockpit illumination. The stand is from AMT/Ertl’s TIE Fighter kit.

Matt

That’s awesome. The LightSheet engine is really cool. Is that a custom accessory for the Falcon?

Anyone besides me suffering from a touch of model envy? [:)]

Way cool!
Lee

Very cool Matt, Those Star Wars models are sharp! The Lightsheet engine affect is very convincing. Does the Lightsheet come in blue or did you tint it that color?[8D]

More pics! More pics! More pics!

Matt, very nice work. Hope to see more on the forum pages. [:D]
