CF-18B Decals

I have a CF-18B in 1/72 from Haswgawa and found that the decals were to yellow to use. Does anyone have these decals that are not yellow or know where I can get 1/72 CF-18B decals with the usual 2 tone gray scheme. I’ve looked and can’t find any. Thanks.

You’ll want to check out products from the Canadian outfit, Arrow Graphics. They’ve got a lot of selection in the way of Canadian Hornet decal sheets, including all squadron markings, Desert Storm markings and enough generalized sheets to model any Hornet in Canadian service in all three major scales.

Last I heard, Meteor Productions was one of the dealers you could get Arrow Graphics products from in America.

Hope that helps

Thanks upnorth. I’ll have to do some research to find markings I’m looking for. It seem most are of special markings aircraft. I just want standard markings.

Hey plum,
If I’m not mistaken, check w/ Leading Edge models as well.
Flaps up,Mike

The canadians really know how to paint a plane. Makes US planes look boring.

Yeah, we do some wild color bird schemes here.

Most of what I’ve seen come out of Leading edge are special colour schemes. The Arrow graphics selection will not only allow you to model any Hornet in Standard Canadian finish, but also allow you to model it from any era in its 20 year history in Canadian service, from the delivery of the first one, a B model, in 1982, right up to the current markings arrangements.

You can get access to RonUSMC’s free picture posting site through the General Modeling Discusion forum, there’s some Canadian Hornet shots in the F/A-18 reference photo album, including a couple of special colour scheme shots I threw in myself. In the case you might want to take a shot at one of those two schemes, decals are available for both in the Leading Edge catalog.

You might like to peek in the F-5 album too, there’s a special colour scheme on a Canadian one in there, you can get decals for it through Arrow Graphics.

Your best bets for Canadian subject decals are Arrow Graphics, Leading Edge and Belcher Bits. They’re all Canadian outfits and produce excelent quality products.

Glad I could help
