Well I finally have the hull done, I think its time to post pics and move on to the rest of the kit (thank god). This thing is a cool kit, and I sure am having fun working on it. Well heres the pictures, lemmie know what you all think.

This thing has all kinds of little things added, But I think I am the most proud of the towing cables. I made those from picture hanging cable from walmart, and beading wire [:)]

well thanks for looking

jim

Looks real good.[^] Nice job

It looks great. I like the interior of the engine compartment. Are you building it OOTB or are you adding any aftermarket kits?

hey all,
thanks fur lookin’ and the good replies.

kaleu, as far as I know there are no AM sets for this thing, so all the extras like the wireing, extra first aide boxes, chains on the clevis rings?? , safety pin and chain for the tow hook, and tow cables are all scratch built from a mixture of styrene, spares, PE sprue, one of my wifes old necklaces, etc. etc. I think thats why it has taken so long to get this far. Oh, and thanks, thats my favorite part so far (tracks are my second they turned out good too)

thanks all

jim

Excellent progress. Sorry, I think I missed the earlier post, but what kit is this?

it is the Tamiya 1/25 centurion MK III with a full interior. Really cool kit

You are doing an excellent job with your “Centurion”, Jim. It already has the hallmark of being a real eye catcher! Look forward to seeing the completed project. Thanks for sharing with us. Semper Fi, mike

thanks all, this is turning out to be a major project, I keep finding things to add and improve. Now I just have to figure out what kind of personal stuff would be in a tank. Oh and the outside too

Great work ! Keep us posted ! I have built several of these kits , and it’s one of my favorites . I served on Centurions , when I first joined the Army .

Wow! I’m impressed. Gotta get me one of those. Is that kit still in production?

seventrs, I dont think it is, or if it is its on a limited basis. my LHS owner said he hasnt been able to order them in a long time, so I dont know if there available anywhere or not. I just wish there were more manufacturers who would build full interiors like this.

jim

Keep up the great work . When you are building the turret , Tamiya missed a few things , the most noticable is the lifting eyes on the front of the turret ,behind the smoke grenade dischargers , between the upper mounting brackets , I used the rear ones from the kit , as templates , and went from there. Next are the cables that connect the smoke grenade dischargers, and the spool , for the " comms ’ wire , to the turret roof .
