I have a project here that needs some help
I need to build a catapult that has to shoot 20 feet
into an 8by 8 box that is 61inces off the ground.
any good ideas or sites to help me?
accuracy is everything here!
oh yeah, I posted this here because a catapult is a medievel artillery thingy
Quick google search came up with lots links.
One of them being…

wow I gotta e-mail that to my teacher.
thanks!
Our grade school built two catapults last year for a science competeition, one overhand and the other was under hand. They used springs to propel the arms, but the key for accuracy was the release fit into holes in a board. They played with the location of the holes until they zeroed in on the three distances they had to shoot for. The springs always gave the same amount of energy and the release being in the same position made it accurate, both distance and left/right (windage).
Some schools used bungee cords pulled and aimed by the students, not always the same amount of pull and the angle changed along with windage.
Let me know if you want more info.
