My marbles must be around somewhere!
It isn’t only the carpet monster. His evil cousin, Hardwood-floor monster, is alive and well. I put a laminate floor in my hobby room, thinking it would be easier to find things…yeah, right, fool…we mock you.
I’ve also discovered that things don’t always take the trajectory you thought. I’ve looked and looked for things where I thought they went…then looked in the opposite direction and found them on the desk. I think I heard faint laughing. Spooky.
Lyle.
These stories are giving me the creeps!
i’m going to try a sugestion that ba friend of mine sugested with small brass parts is to stick them to masking tape BEFORE you cut…got to bed worth trying
Years ago I lost a sanding stick to the carpet monster.
OMG, this is so true!! I think I have a the same gateway directly beneath my building chair and it exits somewhere on the far side of Saturn!! I had a Tornado hit the floor about a year ago and the right rear elevator went flying into the aforementioned vortex to the abyss. Anyway, I searched the wood floor ‘neath my workbench (can’t even blame this on carpet!!) about ten times to find it. Anyway, nope, gone. So, the Tornado sat ‘injured’ for a bit over a year and then about a month ago, again, I dropped a part under the bench and lo and behold, there’s the friggin’ elevator AND it really wasn’t that well hidden. I dunno, the modeling gods were laughing at me for sure that day!! [:@]
A little over 5 yrs ago I lost my workbench to the carpet demons. I quit drinking the next day…found the bench.[:D]
I got back into the hobby about 4 or 5 years ago. then about 2 years ago I ripped up the carpeting in my office/hobby room. Then I thought I wont be losing all these parts. WRONG!!!
I know there has to be at least 70 or 80 peices somewhere. Since I live alone, Things don’t get cleaned as often as they should. I have a big glass desk and right now, I have about 2 square feet to build my kits. So, with any luck, I’ll find some of the peices that sprouted wings.
So wish me luck, that’s on the ageda for tomorrow.
