well it finally happened…the carpet monster ate one of the gunner sights of my 1/48 p-61 black widow…i was holding it in some tweezers and it shot out…tore the room apart[carefully] and it is nowhere to be found…
any chance somebody has another one i could buy?..shoot me an email if at all posible

As a last result, I have not tried yet but have heard of a tactic using womans pantyhose inside the hose of a vacume. Using it as a screen then running the vacume over the affected area. With any luck you will catch your missing piece as well as probably may other pieces gone missing over the years. No guarentee but its a shot.
thats a good idea…i will remember that…it is big enough to see if it was there…might have to look farther across the room…might have made it that far but i doubt it…

I would say just to play devils advocate that short of a large piece of fusalage or wing no part is too big to be lost. Its amazing how these things will wedge themselves down in the base of the carpet fiber. My other strategy is to get my wife to help, seems that a calm pair of eyes helps

It DOES work; Ive used it. Window screen and bridal tulle work as wel.
Yes - it does indeed work! I keep one of those little Black & Decker rechargable handi-vacs next to my workspace just for that reason. It gets used at least twice a month.
Also, don’t under estimate how far those pieces will fly. There have been times when I would’ve sworn that they were down around my feet, and found them (Finally!) like half-way across the room.

Don’t always assume the carpet monster ate it. Several years ago I dropped a small part and spent what seemed like hours looking for it. When I was getting ready for bed that night, I found the part glued to my sock. So now I also have a sock monster in my model room. [(-D]
i actually found it…it was halfway across the room…thanks for all the offers of assistance…
I pretty much wear cuffed pants, surprising how many things I find in there.
PS I do not model over carpet- concrete.
