Did you see the news about the cargo container ship from China? Lots of containers fell off the stern of a cargo ship. Luckily no one was hurt. I wonder how many model kits are floating in the water right now?

I missed it, but it is far from uncommon. The ocean floors are littered with lost containers. As for lost model kits, losing them is the Post Office’s job, at least in my experience. I have my local Post Master on speed dial (no joke.)

I thought I read that the containers float, at least for awhile and generally they are able to retrieve most of them with another ship.
