fellows, you know that you are sorry when you’re off Friday’s, Saturdays, and Sundays every weekend and you can’t get anthing done!!! i build homes for a living and own a humble little cabinet shop and am too lazy to get up off my butt and build me some more shelf space!! i have plenty of scrap lumber at the shop to build 40 miles worth of shelf, yet its like pulling teeth to get up and go do it. all i want to do with the little spare time that i get is visit with you guys and build kits!!! i’m rapidly running out of shelf space, as the photo below shows all the real estate that i have to store my builds!! would someone please travel to Alabama with a size 12 boot and implant it in…well, i just need to take time to stop building and go build me some shelves or a display case!! later.
HAve the same problem. I’ve got models stuck in places that no one sees (even I forget about them).
I keep telling myself that I’ll buy some lexan and build a clear case up on one one - 4 years later and several switch overs (builds end up in TC) I still haven’t built one and still have more models than display room.
Build me one too buddy.
I don’t know where I am going to put this F-15E and the SU-27 I bought when they are completed. I have a nice display case but it is only big enough for 1/72 scale as the shelves are only about 10-12" deep. [V]
i feel ya pain scott!! i rent the house that i live in now and we’re planning to build our own soon and i’m gonna build me a small out building with a display room in it. it’ll be about 8X12 with shelves from floor to ceiling. it’ll take me a while to fill that up hopefully!! like rik says, i’m gonna try to glass it in to cut down on dust.

Pix, I’m trying to talk my wife into letting me have her hutch in the dining room, I mean, who wants to look at her stuff? plates, hummels etc. Do you think I’m headed for divirce court?

Just finished my shop but the wife found out how much room I got out there and yes you guessed right my new 20’x20’ shop is full and im back to building in the dinning room.
ain’t it just like women thad!!! you could build a warehouse sized storage building and they’d have it filled up in 2 days!! Roll Tide friend!!LOL. (it wont be long!!!) later.
My models are all over the place too… bookshelf, tv, speaker, cd rack, and closet shelf. I hung up a few in my sons room with small anchors into the ceiling & fishing line. If you have acoustic ceilings, the anchors hide really nice.
As a long-time collector of the old glass insulators from telephone poles, I certainly know about running out of shelf space![:D] I’ve about run out of space for more insulators in the lighted display case I built for them about eight years ago. And yes, I also have that little matter about where do I put my finished models! At least I complete one kit about every two years, so it’s not like my little one-bedroom apartment is rapidly filling up with models. (Hey, there’s a possible solution, saltydog–build only one model every two years![:D]) However, a couple of the models waiting to be built are quite large (such as a 1-72-scale P-3) and I’ve got in the back of my head an idea for a diorama that whenever built, will definitely want some elbow room!

chris,NICE MUSTANGS!!!they look real good! I think all modlers have that problem!I have it too.my dad is a expert craftsman he is going to build me some shelfs!hope they work.
