Hi all. After spending the afternoon playing around with some experiments I finally found a canopy tint method that I like. Looks pretty good to me and figured I’d share. I cage catered it specifically to the prowler, but the same e variations would work on pretty much any aircraft. Enjoy.
I use Tamiya Smoke (great on modern fighter jets) and Transparent green or blue (for helicopters) for various canopies. Spray in 2-3 light coats until you’re satisfied with the right shade. Sometimes only 1 coat would suffice.
The smoke works as a general tint, but there’s a lot left to be desired for some of the modern canopies with the metallic iridescent highlight. As for helos yes, clear green works good, but I recommend alclad armor green as it looks much more convincing.
