Has anyone had any success re-using canopy masks? I have a fleet of B-25s!

I haven’t tried it myself but I imagine this would only work once or twice, tops. You can only spray so much paint, Future, clear coats, etc. before the mask become too rigid and unworkable
Never tried canopy masks. I must old since I still use liquid masking for things like that.
Eduard pre-cut masks are the best thing since sliced bread. I see if they’re available for everything I build now.

Ahh…“reusing”…duh. Yes you can with the Eduard product. I cracked an FW190 windscreen after it was painted. Fortunately the kit came with an extra and I reused the masks without issue.

If you’ve used both the Eduard and EZ Mask masks, how did they compare? EZ mask has a set for the Revell A-6 I’m about to start so I’ll probably give 'em a call. I had great luck with EZ masks on my F-84F but I’ve not tried to reuse them yet.

I don’t see it happening with Eduard masking if you’ve gone through painting, clear coats, weathering, more clear coats. If you just spray the color and remove them and call it done you might could get a couple of uses out of them. One thing I notice sometimes on otherwise nice builds is how canopy framing looks drastically different than the colors on the body of the aircraft. People don’t take into account the effects clear coats and whatnot have on the hue of the paint. If you don’t replicate the steps taken on the main body (assuming canopy framing is the same color as the body) you can end up with mismatch. For me this means I leave the masking on to the very end. After several coats of paints and topcoats and washes etc the tape is pretty beat.
I never reuse masks. They get damaged by the paint and peeling them of.
