Canopy fit problems

Hello,
I’m building a 1/72 Tamiya Spit. I have masked the canopy, and the first top colour so I can paint the second. I was going to attach the canopy at this point because the second colour is what goes over the frame. I was using white glue and noticed gaps in the fit that were to large for gthe glue to fill. I was considering using putty some how, but felt I was in over my head. So I thought I’d come to the group for help. I’m afraid to start sanding at this point. I also think it will throw off the look. Any help on how I can make the canopy look like its part of the aircraft, and not just an after thought?[8]

If the gaps are not too big, you can use stretched sprue to shim up the area. You can use white glue to fill around the sprue. A little touchup with paint and see how it looks. It might require a little sanding to blend it all in.
