canopy edges

What is the best way to fill the gaps around the edges of canopies so that it looks realistic? do you just fill and sand it like any other seam? also how do you go about painting the framework on the inside of the canopy? I tried painting the interior color on the outside first, then the exterior, but it just didn’t look quite right. ???

If you coat the canopy in Future, it greatly reduces the risk of frosting if you use CA as a filler. If you use putty, the resulting scratches can be buffed out & polished, followed w/ an application of Future.
As for the canopy frames, you can try painting some clear decal film the appropriate color, seal it, then carefully cut out strips to apply to the inside. Its easier if you don’t cut through the backing of the decal paper before you put it in water.
As always, experiment first if you want to try the CA approach.
