Hi gang. Been out of modelling for a year or two ( can’t tell the difference between 1 year and 2 at my age [:D]) and I have a couple of quick questions.
- I had heard some years ago that some modellers were painting the edges of their canopies with black paint. Is that true? If so, why?
- My current model (a 1/48 PBY) has been sitting in the same spot I left it some time ago and has a lovely layer of dust on it. Any suggestions for removal before I tackle it?

A soft brush and a bit of low pressure air from an airbrush is what I do for dust build-up.
No idea on the canopy paint. I just mask it, paint the inside color first, then spray the camo over it. To remove the dust, just use a toothbrush damp with water, and don’t scrub over the decals unless they are sealed with a clear coat.
Painting the edges of the glass (either black or body color) hides the edges of the glass. Otherwise, you get a reflection (looks kinda silvery to me) after you’re done installing it.
