I would like to model a canopy hit by bullets, anybody got any sugestions?
I never tried it but depending on the scale you might be able to drill small small holes using a pin vise and then add some cracks by scratching the canopy with an Xacto blade. Just go easy and keep the scratches (cracks) reasonable.
I’ll think about this a bit more.
First, I’d recommend you do this to a vacform canopy. Typical styrene’s going to be too thick to look convincing once you start putting holes in it. Poke a hole with an old airbrush needle or a pin or something, then “jag” it up a bit with a #11 blade. Best I got…
Depending on the scale, wouldn’t the actual “hole” be way too small to see? I think what I would try would be to use a needle or push pin to scratch radiating “cracks” out from a central point. It would also save the expense of making your own or purchasing a vacuformed canopy.
