Canadian SAR helo info needed, Bell variants

I’m getting started on a Canadian CH-118 (UH-1H) SAR helo for the RCAF build but I can’t find any interior pics to determine the layout.

I found one pic in flight with a crewman in the door, it looks like it only has the forward facing bench seat, not the side seats or rear facing bench seat but its a low res pic so doesn’t blow up well and is dark behind the crewman, my detrmination of the seating is based on his positioning, I don’t think there could be a seat behind him. I’ve found some great exterior pics but no luck on an interior. The walk around of all the Canadian helos at ARC goes to a 404 not found page.

Also interior color I’m assuming is a medium grey except for some black anti-skid near the doors like most UH-1’s. The instructions (Italeri 1/72 UH-1D) say the insulation on the back wall and ceiling should be pale green but I don’t think that is right.

I eventually plan to do an CH135 twin huey and CH146 (412) so info on those would be good too.

Thanks

Nope Italeri got it wrong. It should be like any other huey w/grey interior walls, floor, roof, etc.

Hi Arron, I have some pictures of the CH-118. They are currently escaping my search. I’m currently going back over my seached for the 412 decals. I think are from Model Alience. If you can still find them Belcher Bits did a real nice decal sheet of Canadian Helicopters that is well worth getting a hold of. Made my 118 easier. I’ll email the pics when I find them. Cheers, Keep safe and have penty of water handy, No open fires.

Thanks that would really help. I ran across the Belcher bits set going through the RCAF posts and picked up a set. That is what inspired me to give a CH118 a try. I have a bunch of the Italeri UH-1D kits and those Canadian SAR helos are nice looking and not too difficult a paint scheme.
