Canadian "Dry Pin" Track

Looking for a source for Canadian “Dry Pin” track and drive sprockets in 1/35 scale. I have a set in an S-Model Sexton kit, but am also working on a Skink conversion. The Skink was based on the Grizzly and all of the reference material I’ve found indicates that I need the Dry Pin track to keep it accurate.

Any help out there?

Both the Sexton and Skink appear with non CDP tracks too. Make your decision on which one to use. Historica (of Italy) is producing a set by the year’s end. I have both the kits you mention, too and I’m resigned to probably getting the Historica set.

Frogger;

Where did you get your Skink conversion kit from? I have not seen one for quite a few years and only new of one being available then.

Cheers;

Gregory

Greg - I picked it up on Ebay. It’s and oldie, but complete - at least as complete as it ever was (no gun barrels, no detail parts). It’s a conversion kit and this puppy will need some creative detailing. The guy who sold it to me lives in Canada and had it in his ‘getting to it’ collection since the mid-90’s.

Ericadeane - I’ve only seen pics with the Dry Pin track. Do you have research material that shows the other?

The reference photos I’ve seen show two different types of bogie wheels on the suspension. The front pair are solid while the mid and rear sets are spoked. I found that interesting because I noticed the same thing on the Ram tank at Vimy House (Canadian War Museum in Ottawa) a couple of years ago.

Have you seen and actual pictures of the only Skink to go overseas? Obviously, that’s the one I’d like to try to model.

ive just done an advanced search on here (the year needed to be put back)
there was a discussion on the Skink by a member whose left now call Shermanfreak
he mentioned this “CDP indy resin tracks can be purchased from S-Models in Poland for $5 U.S”
some one was doing one in the Sherman group build

Wellcome to the forums Frogger

I have a photo of the Skink, left rear quarter view and it clearly has T54 tracks and the typical drive sprocket. Send me your email address. Paul Roberts (president of AMPS but a great Canadian armour modeller) has built up this puppy.

BTW, that rumor about SModels selling their CDP tracks separately turned out to be a myth.
