I know this may be an impossible search. I am looking for a kit of a '58 Laurentian to build for my father. This was his first car so I thought it would be an idea to build a kit of it… That is if one exists.
Does anyone, even some out of the way cottage company even make kits of cars that were sold, manufactured specifically in Canada.
Any help is appreciated.

i dont know of a kit, heck i had never even heard of it. your only option might be to kitbash and throw putty. i did an image search so i could get an idea of what it looked like and came up empty. what i would do in this situation is, think of what it looked like, is there a pretty high volume American car that it looked similar to? maybe something someone would have just released a kit of. then start doing the details, grille, bumpers, filler panel, head and taillights, etc. its a long, slow process taht can burn quite a few valuable work nights, but it will show in the end. this is the exact same process i used on my '74 GTO. its not done or id post pictures.
my thoguht process went like this: first i looked at places like the fenders, doors, roof, anywhere famaliar. it looked close enough to a '72 Nova. thank you AMT for the recent reissue. it was a crappy reissue but it was there nonetheless. then i looked at the front end: '70 Trans Am nose piece with the Nova bumper. then on to the rear: a 70 1/2 Camaro filler panel with '68 Firedbird taillights and a scratchbuilt bumper.
then my foces turned to the interior. i could reuse most of the Nova interior, with the exception of the steering wheel and front seats. the wheel came out of Revell’s '70 Chevelle and i had to carve a new pattern on the seats to get them right. then under the hood i went. i got several pictures of the engine compartment and used them as reference to detail the daylights out of the mostly-kit engine. i painted up a set of Rally 2’s and used the kit chassis, exhaust, and suspension. i still have to do the putty then lay my paint, but thats the gist of the build.
just remember, you can never spend too much time researching. and if you need advice or parts, just ask and you shall recieve. later.

ok, Gregory. ive got good news and bad news. i lloked again and found some pretty good pictures of the Laurenthian. the good news is you’ll be able to start with a '58 Impala. even better news, the only thing different until about the doors are the turn lights. the bad news, you’ll have to rework side trim. the only thing i can think of would be to carefully cut out the section of trim you dont need, then splice in a piece of the side trim from an AMT '58 Edsel. thats the closest thing i could think of. i havent been able to find good pictures of either car for a side-by-side comparo of the back. good luck with this convo. later.
