It looks GREAT! [Y] Congrats on completing your first military model.
Nice build. Did you follow the colour scheme given in the instructions or did you research the scheme. I am asking because I have already built the same model but as the British North African version and I want to do a Canadian version but I have seem so many different camoflage schemes. I just wnat one that is reasonably accurate and looks good. I want to do the North west Europe version but would be happy with the Italian campaign version.
Again Great looking model
Nice job! unusual subjects are always fun to look at.
Awesome job. I did the quad from this kit myself a couple of years ago and it didn’t turn out nearly as well as yours. What was your modeling background up till this point and how much work went into this build?
Thanks guys, glad you like.
I took suggestions from a guy on another site who has done alot of research on Canadian WWII subjects. But the information out there is not plentiful. As it turns out this #12 cab FAT was not that plentiful in the invasion of Sicily. They used mostly the newer #13 cab Chevy trucks that have a little different body style. But apparnently a few of these did make it over. I’m told that most of the trucks coming straight from Britain would have been that crappy brown colour with maybe some dark brown camo. But pretty well all of the vehicles later in 43 and on were painted in “light Mud” with black camo scheme. The camo is not the mickey mouse pattern often seen. Hope this helps.
I’ve just recently been getting into military models. I have a KV-2 in the works right now. I’ve been building car models for the last few years so I’m not a stranger to the model hobby. I really enjoy the weathering possibilites of the armour. I also love the character of many of these early war machines. The Quad is one such vehicle.
A couple more pics.

Nice work, congrats on the finish and on your first military model! [B]
Nice. I really like the weathering job on this piece!
Nicely done [Y] Very pleasing to look at. Will there be more military / armor?
Thanks guys. Yes there will definately be more. I have about a dozen vehicles and tanks in the stash now. I’m working on the Trumpeter KV Big Turret and Tamiya Steyr 1500 at the moment. [:D]
