can you put gloss enamel clear coat over BMF?

Hi every one…

I was curious if any one had tried putting clear gloss enamel over bare metal foil? I’mbuilding a 62’ t-bird with all the PE trimings and customizing the paint job and interior. I was thinking of taking the chrome hood vernt piece out and putting a black mesh screen in its place and then the cowel that is over that section would have the chrome BMF. I’m just curious if the BMF will be ok under the high gloss clear coat. Any ideas?

Hmmmm I can’t see what the problem should be in putting a coat of Future on top of the BMF, but I have never tried it.
Maybe someone with more BMF experience will give you a more precise answer.
