Fw189 aka The Frame!
Yes sir!
That’s new to me, what an unusual aircraft.
I found the pics on the ground with the crew particularly interesting becuase on it’s own, it looks like a pretty fair sized twin, but it’s not. It’s surprisingly compact.
Reminds of the the first 1/48 FW-190 I open the box of. I was certain that Eduard had put the sprues of a 1/72nd 190 in by mistake. Didn’t realize how small the little fellers were.
Greg, they were suprisingly tough little buggers. They were powered by the same engines that powered the Storch. They beat out the BV-141 for an observation platform and were used later as a night fighter.
I thought the He 219 was the UHU
Reliable little recon plane!
Is that a book with a paper model included?
Nope!just a Polish Paper Kit!
I can always count on you for interesting details about aircraft!
Always appreciated, thanks Steve. [Y]
Ok progress continues…the cone at the rear of the fuselage was very difficult.The cone resembled a Mercator projection that has 9 petals that have to join together to form the cone.I decided to put 3 different sized washers to join them together .far from. Perfect but acceptable I guess!
Cartographer? I spent a lot of years in digital cartography. Somewhere I have a copy of John Snyders book on projections. Looks more conic ![]()
Kit is coming along nicely!
Yes I thought it was a descriptive term.
Philo 426;
You gotta be kidding! That is a bear to build. I got sassy with mine and duplicated all the framing with light brass strip. So I could put a cockpit in it! I think it still hangs in a V.A. Hospital Rec.Room!
I would like to see a picture. Of that Tanker!
