Can you do it ? Not me ! -> Wojtek Fajga Projects

Let me introduce Wojtek Fajga project to FSM forum viewers.

Wojtek is an inspiration to many modelers in Poland. You will quickly find out why …

First exciting project (in my opinion) is Nieuport 28

edit: 1/48 scale - total scratch build

Wojtek decided to build this aircraft:

and here is a story how he is progressing with his work

some special tooling Wojtek is using to prepare elements of the structure

and here is the wing painted …

Leading edge was bent and soldered step by step …

And after polishing the upper wing is ready for painting …

I hope you canenjoy Wojtek’s progress. If you are interested in the future “reports” from Wojtek’s build(s) please place here your comments and I will be glad to continue this exciting report.

Thanks for sharing this Greg! I have been watching this project closely. He is one of the most talented modelers I have ever seen! [bow]

That is astonishing! The quality of his craftsmanship is throught the roof. And the paint is incredibly convincing. Please continue to post. Thanks!

latest from Wojtek …

his “tire shop” [:)]

and in details:

By all means keep it up, Greg. It seems a shame to cover up the fine metal work with paint though. What scale?

I am sorry, I should put it already: it is 1/48 scale

and the almost done bird w/o feathers [:)]

I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as this- thanks for posting this work of genius. Cheers!

chuk

I agree 100%, his craftsmenship is awsome ! He is a great artist with skills not many people can produce.

Just a touch of Wojtek’s other projects …

Ansaldo Balilla (1/48 Karaya) with Merian Cooper markings !!!

and here is a Thunderbolt … Angie (Hasegawa 1/48)

Absolutely amazing!!! No matter how long I tinker at this hobby I don’t believe I will ever achieve this level of mastery. WOW!!!

Wow, now that is incredible! It is truly amazing!!! A masterpiece.

what a waste of effort[:-^] if he is going through that much work he ought to be doing it in 1:1 scale[swg]

all kidding aside, [bow][tup][tup] I will give this one 5 stars BEFORE it is finished!

Thanks Gentlemen ! I will pass your kind words to Wojtek.

Just two days ago Wojtek said: I am going to build something quick, OOB thing and picked Eduard 190 … Funny thing is: he started to modify the :

  • fuselage,

  • engine cawling,

  • tail

and few other things because those are not looking well enough, do not match drawings …

[banghead]

I am expecting another marvel coming soon. I am sure I can learn a lot from him [:)] - already improved my model picture taking skills thanks to his hints [:)]

here it is:

Wyskrobałem klapę na spodzie kadłuba. Jako szablonu użyłem wypiłowanego do odpowiedniego kształtu kawałka blaszki mosiężnej przyklejonego taśmą dwustronna do modelu.

rough correction to the vertical tail. Now its thinner by ~1 mm.

Tamiya seat fits almost perfectly into Eduard kit.

Based on pictures of the engine cawling, some corrections are necessary (as shown with a red line)

and some components already assembled

Wow! Cool thread Greg! Thanks and keep 'em coming!

[#ditto]

That Nieuport is just scary!

Way too talented.

Keep 'em coming.

Karl

Sure I will [:)]

Here is a link to his WIP P47D NMF

I do not even need to translate … pictures are worth 1000 words and his pictures even more [:)]

P-47 NMF Foiled WIP

Hi there Greg,
Leonardo is alive and living in Poland !!
I’ve never seen anything as wonderous as this gentleman’s work [bow]
It’s truly inspirational too see the efforts and skills he’s demonstrating.
Many thanks for sharing this with us all, please continue.
My best wishes,
Mick C.

Wojtek recently started Eduard FW-190 and decided to modify few things, including tail geometry. Here is a final touch of this detail (besides few others [:)])

Wojtek took a masking tape (mostly used by auto body shops).

…very flexible

…using a tool from Bare Metal Foil nagniatam …

the scribing tool- a sewing needle … with consistentlow pressure to avoid inaccurate track.

in case of scribbing the line in such places, it is much easier to use this tool

just after scribbing the lines do not look to well

polishin is required (soft base).

and more cleaning tools in action

and after applying a base coat ( surgacer 1000)…

Eduard FW190 with corrected tail and few modifications …

and more …

for rivetting Wojtek uses the following tools:

The alchemy that turned that Nieuport’s brass parts into wood… is just astounding.

What an artist !
