Grumble…

Ordered! Danka Mein herr!

Well Tamiya makes a pretty nice one…and in the correct scale too…just sayin’

Really, I was allready thinking the same, only their price isn’t quite so correct…

I have one in stash that I pre-ordered from the LHS back when they released, and yes it was a good bit pricey. When Hobby Lobby cleared out a lot of their kits they could be had on clearance for around $25.

Quarter-scale used to be my only pick for a/c, but more and more I’m digging 1/72nd—especially for modern jets and multi-engined a/c. The detail has just gotten that much better in the smaller scales of late…

I went shopping with an old ex-modeler, a friend of the family (and other people),

And saw a clear edition of the Tamiya aircraft and he said that if I want it he would pay a big part of the aircraft because he loved the model so much and loves the fact that a young person like myself is interested in such an old aircraft! Thats how I got mine[H]

Honestly, I am seriously starting to consider 1/72 because I want to build up an eclectic collection of colorful navy jets. A bunch of 48th F-4s, A-7s, Tomcats etc can really take up some room. Then I can save the 48 for the more near and dear subjects. Considering that armada of 109s you posted in the Hasegawa thread I could see maybe needing kits that need less shelf space.

There’s a reason my Tammy Stringbag is still in its box, I just couldn’t deal with that rigging in 72nd.

Check out Fermis’ buid of this MOJ0—the wheeled variant…it might inspire you to try it…

Damn guys, I don’t know about ya’ll but my sight is just not there for 1/72, staying 1/48 until stash runs out then moving to 1/32… assuming I’m still alive by then… and can still see!

I have seen Fermis’ work and the only thing I think it will inspire me to do is spend more time golfing. Is it in the Big Swordfish Groupie GB? I’ll check it out.

[^o)] Maybe I should be painting & detailing all of my 1/72 cockpits & assorted fiddlybits before my eyes get worse?? Then build the rest of the kits later?/ [^o)]

Vance, I think Eduard actually put out a pre-painted ZOOM set for this mutha’…

Pretty sweet! Not my cup of tea due to scale, but I know a few guys who will like this. And given Airfix’s latest work I think it will a be a good kit for a fair price. The right combination in my view.
