Hey all, One question about future, once you dip a canopie in future can you pour the rest back in the bottle?

Two things:
First, I’d keep it in a seperate jar, just to be on the safe side.
Second, standard internet etiquette says that capital letters imply you are raising your voice. So, unless you are upset about something, I’d encourage you to turn the CAPSLOCK off…

I don’t see anything wrong with that if you pour Future back into the bottle as long as you keep the bowl, tweezer and canopy VERY clean. I’d hate for it to catch dust or dirt then it will affect on your next build. I personally would throw it away. Our buddy Hans Von Hammer would save every drop of Future…

I do it all the time. I tried keeping a small jar set aside, to keep contamination to a minimum. But I found that the small jar just thickened up and became useless (yes it was sealed - it was an empty paint jar). So I ended throwing away a few ounces every couple of months.
Now, I just pour enough into a small dixie cup, dip the canopy and pour the remining Future, back into the bottle. Heck, sometimes, I just dip the canopy straight into the bottle of Future, itself.

You’re right redraider I asked a question about it on another post and he said it is pointless.
Why dip if you can just brush it on? Since it is self levelling you do not get brush streaks.
Not true… Used it on my barracks room floor all the time… And on my display boots…

I keep about 100 mls in a jar for dipping clear parts, havnt touched in four months and still fine.

Yes, future can be re-used. I do it all the time. Just make sure no contaminants have gotten into it (dust,etc.) and put it into the container it came out of.[H]
Sure… I don’t like using an airbrush to squirt on a clear coat for decaling when a rattle-can of clear gloss works just as well and is quicker-drying, quicker to apply, and dosn’t run the risk of yellowing. Nor do I have to clean a ratle-can after a five-second job.
I also don’t dip canopies in it, because, to me, it makes the canopy look thicker, and the “crystal clearness” looks unrealistic. Operational aircraft canopies have myiad little scratches in them, helmet scuff-marks, and other little areas of wear & tear… Only “Show-birds” and fresh-from-the -factory aircraft have “crystal-clear” canopies…
Applied over paint as a clear gloss, Future looks, again to me, like the model is a die-cast model… Doesn’t matter if I do it, or someone else does, that’s what it looks like to me… I use Testor’s Glosscoat or Tree House Acrylic clear gloss in rattle-cans…
I keep mine in a wide mouth jar with a snap top. I’ve been using it for at least 3 years and haven’t had any problem with yellowing or thickening.

I got a jar of relish (cleaned well) and filled it about 1/2 full of Future. I just dip it in there. I wouldn’t pour it back in though, unless I were extremely careful. I wouldn’t want to see a finish ruined just because of that.
Also, I have the article for Future in my collection. It is excellent! I have it marked with a sticky, as I do with (almost) every how-to or technique atricle I have in every Finescale mag I have. I’m about halfway through, except I ran out of stickies. [:(((] It greatly helps with finding the article you need. Sorry, I’m getting a little off topic…
While I’m rambling, I’d like to commend Finescale on having so many technique oriented articles. Funny, of my few issues of other modelling magazines, none have any stickies…
