I was on squadron and found a verlinden product, its nylon mesh netting. Has anyone used it before? Sounds pretty good.

I’ve never tried it myself, but I’d be curious to hear how it works out.
John,
Nice find. Personaly I like to use medical gauze or cheesecloth found in local stores. Looks good, paints easy, is cheap and readily available.
Another alternative is to sneak back to the wedding section of the local fabric store and look at the nylon mesh used for veils. Comes in different size meshes and once painted and sitffened looks almost as good or equal to PE.

I hear alot anout cheescloth, just exactly what is it?
I’ve got the desert and green versions of this, but they’re just sitting in my pile of stuff waiting to be used. From what I’ve seen, it should work pretty well as the older styles of cammie netting. Just have to give it a go and see.
John,
Cheese cloth is a very loosely woven cotten fabric that looks very similar to the old medical bandages. It is called cheese cloth because it was what was used to wrap cheese in. It is used quite a bit in cooking for straining or wrapping stuff that has a tendency to crumble or fall apart. Wood workers use it as a finishing cloth or tacky cloth for picking up sawdust. (they soak it in varnish so it gets sticky). Crafters use it as a sort of lathe for doing plaster work or for mold reenforcement.
Its pretty easy to find in craft stores, hardware stores, grocery stores, and fabric stores. Its very inexpensive and a few bucks will buy you more than you might ever need.
Also look through some of the drugstores. The medical gauxe used for large bandaging is really only cheezecloth that is sterilized.

Thanks renarts
I’ve seen it in my LHS and I think I’ll stick to PE grills and guaze for helmets and netting, but thanks!
Never heard of this stuff, but I’d be very interested to find out how it all works, and more importantly, how much do you get for the price? namely, what are the dimensions of the piece?
Hey i found some cheese cloth. Should i spray it with some watered down glue, as like when making tissue blankets?
When using medical gauze I soak it in the glue/water mixture, the same should work for cheese cloth.
thanks
