I will soon be building a 1/48 B-1B Lancer model with a chamo scheme, but I want some practice first. Therefore, I’m going to build a 1/72 F/A-18C Hornet in camouflage. However, I do not know what camo colors/schemes the Navy or Marines paint them in. Could someone show some photos, illustrations, or the like? Thanks
Navy and Marine F/A-18s are usually painted Light Ghost Gray with Dark Ghost Gray on the tops of control surfaces, vertical surfaces, and the top of the fuselage. After usual “wear and tear” on the airframe, the Hornets usually look a light gray with scattered spoches of darker gray where certain panels have been repainted during the maintenance cycle.
