A question ? I just received Paul Stillwell’s book Battleship Arizona and in the back of the book there is a drawing of the wreck. In the drawing at the bow area in the mud is what I found out later is a camel. I know what a camel is (for those not in the know a camel is wooden bumper between two moored ships) what I want to know is how many camels would have been used between the Arizona and the Vestal and what ship were they from? Thank You, Hank Support The Troops
There would be at least two. They would be provided from the port operations services, not from a ship. Port ops also provides tugs and lighters.
Thank you very much for your answer subfixer. Hank Support The Troops
