i am in the planing stage for a model of a hurricane that was used on a catapult armed merchant ship. i have the decal set, the model hurricane MK1 but what i really lack is info and a source for a 1/72 catapult. i know that there was a hasegawa floatplane with the catapult in but would this do with some modifications for the british catapult?anyone know of a website with decent pics of these as my searches have drawn an almost complete blank.
btw what was the japanese plane with the cat. if i can get hold of one of these it will at least give me an idea of how to go about it.
cheers in advance.
Greg
It seems to me the “ship catapult” was a feature article in one of FSM’s issues a few years ago. I don’t remember what “type” it was. I’ll see if I can find an Idex for the past few years. I would post this thread on the Ships section. Maybe someone other there will remember the article.
Greg:
Try posting this on “modelwarships.com”. They have the regular forum, and there is one under the ‘Debris Field’ that is dedicated to civilian vessels.
Post on them both …
Good luck,
Bruce
gregers - I have a few pics of the planes & catapults in an old issue of “Wings” or “Airpower.” Email me from my profile, and I’ll scan & send them to you. You can’t attach pics from the email link here.
Good luck on the project !
Someone dosn’t read the adverts (the wots) in FSM.
White Ensign have been advertising a 1/72 (Ihope it’s 1/72) in etched brass for some time.
The catapult used on CAM ships was a ficture on the bow and I do have a picture in Purnels History of WW2.
I will check ref and post.
