LHS indicated CA can be used on regular styrene & holds like superglue-- also serves well as filler—can anyone confirm this?

yup,i’m sure about 90% or better use it for a filler as well as other things,i even use it to glue large fuslages,when using as a filler,apply a small line with a toothpick to the seam and when dry or accelerated sand it until there is no shiny spots in it,repeat as needed
CA is superglue. You can even get accelerators for it. What I do is make a puddle of CA and another puddle of accelerator. I put the CA on one piece and accelerator on the other than carefully touch together. Instant (and permanent!) hold. Keep a bottle of acetone based nail polish remover handy to assist in removing fingers from models…
CA is also marketed as a gap filler (the one I have is Zap-A-Gap) and comes in Thin, Medium and Thick. Works fine as a filler, but be sure to sand no sooner than 10 minutes after application and probably before 15 minutes are up as CA when hardened is almost impervious to sandpaper. I prefer putties or auto bondo to CA as a filler.
Another good filler is Tamiya Thin glue. Just pour a bit into a container with some of the sprue and let it dissolve the styrene, then apply to the seam. Once it hardens, sand as normal. It’s hard to beat using the same color styrene as a filler!
