I’m about to build the Tamiya 1/35 Quad. The directions say the base color for North Africa is “dark yellow”. Is this right? Is this the same German dark yellow? I thought it would be more like a desert tan. Any thoughts on this.

Actually there are two different shades of Dark yellow in Tamiya paints.

The first is Desert Yellow (XF59) for british vehicles and Dark Yellow (XF60) for German vehicles.

The XF59 appears more of a sandy color that the XF60. Hope this helps.
