I need research material to scratchbuild the bow anchor windlass for my project , a 1:80 model of a C3 freighter - a large version of Revell’s 1:380 Hawaiian Pilot kit. Cant find suitable photos or drawings on the internet or other sources.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Look at the following sites for some great models with great photos. Fine Arts Models (look under “C” class), and Shipmodels Downunder. Also look for United States Maritme Commission. Tons of photos there. Can’t help on any plans.

It seems tome that some years back,SCIENTIFIC put out a large model of a C-3-4 and it was exquisitely detailed . I don,t know wher or who has it now ,but, it,s still around.I ran across an R.C.r that had one down in CORPUS CHRISTIE not to long ago and he said he,d bought the kit in DALLAS. Check the wooden boat model mfgrs.You might hit paydirt.Also go to BLUEJACKET,s website .They have some very good ship hardware. tankerbuilder
