C-47 Finally!

Finally, after searching for about two years, i found a c-47 model. it’s made by italeri, apparently its been just released. here’s the link to the site…

just thought i’d let anyone else who was looking take advantage of this opportunity. My grandfather served as the radio operator on a c-47 that flew the route between india and china during world war two.

I’ve seen that before, but only once. I think it is an older kit that was re-relased. You could try www.modelingmadness.com for a review and [url[www.greatmodels.com[/url] for aftermarket parts and decals.

The Italeri 1/72 C-47 was first released several years ago & has been re-issued a few times since. The last re-issue I remember is an AC-47 Gunship of the Vietnam era.

Bassoonman,
I’ve built this model a couple of times, and with a small amount of tweaking, it ends up being a very nice build. Definately worth buying and building. The version I got (civilian)has the cargo door with the passenger door in it, along with the biggest decal sheet I’ve ever seen - there must have been liveries for 6 different airlines on that sheet.
It’s a great little kit - I’d buy another one anytime…and I’m terrible with refusing to buy kits that don’t fit together very well.

I have had an AC47 since '87 in my ‘to do’ pile, and it wasn’t new then.
Still it looks nice and dry fits ok.

I’d like to second what everyone is saying. It’s a great kit that went together well. Nice details for the scale. Rivet counters will want more but it was a fun kit to build. Landing gear is delicate but will be fine as long as you don’t abuse it.

I just bought one, My very first Italeri Kit!..I think the Revell C-47 ‘Berlin Airlift’ is the same kit.

The Italeri kit illustrated has been around for several years, it was released along with a D-Day Glider kit, to coinside with a D-Day anniversary.
