Good evening fellow modelers,…I bought a 1/48 C-130 cheap on E. My question too the experts are there any conversion kits for modern props available, thanks for any input.
Not sure what you mean by modern props. Which version is kit? Are you talking about the swept six-bladed props? Those only go on the most recent Herk.
Early C-130s had three bladed props. Later models have four blade props, and, as Don said, the six blade are only on the C-130J.
The latest issue of the IPMS magazine has a very detailed article regarding the Italeri C-130 that you should try to get a copy of.
Hi Don, this kit is an ITA C-130 JCS #2746. little info, since haven’t received it yet. My question would be are their conversion kits to upgrade to the six blade props? Thanks for any info.
You need more than just the props to make that into a C-130J.
Most definitely! Some of the cockpit/nose glass is different on the C-130J, too. Not a simple conversion.
Google seatch show that kit # is a RAF C-130J C5. Is there an issue with the kit props?
