C-1 Ariete complete

hey guys, here is my C-1 Ariete. i wish i could make it look as real as tread makes his look, or had the weathing down packed like tigerman does. but here goes. friendly critism welcome [:)]

the lighting is different in the two because i used the flash from the camera on the first one. i can’t figure out where that little line came from in the painting. like its still wet or got wet. hmmm. i still have to add the machine gun. i can’t seem to remember where i placed it. [#oops] i didn’t really have too much to paint because all of the Arietes are green with no other color to them, other than the prototype still being tested with the camo pattern. if i get good posts and comments with this one, i’ll start to feel better about using the MIG powders. tricky little stuff, real easy to over do it. thanks for looking guys.

It looks pretty good. The line on the turret top near the gun is from a puddle of pigments or dullcote that dried and left a ring. It is best to not use the flash when taking pics of models. The flash creates too much contrast and washes out details. Good job. Keep up the good work.

Looks pretty good, the weathering colors are a better “warm” tone than on the Sherman. I would also second the opinion of not using the flash, just use a longer shutter speed and better lighting.

here is my new and improved photo shots of the Ariate i finished. like all my others i’m still lacking the machine gun and anteannas. oh, and my mirrors broke off, so they’ll be added on soon

Looks great! I especially like the drybrushing, it really brings out details. Nice photography on the latest picture as well!

Yeah, that last picture was very nice. I wasn’t sure about the tools, but since Gino didn’t refer to them, they must be accurate. I’m no expert on modern stuff (little better at WW II [:)]), but she looks quite nice. I also concur on the drybrushing. Got to get some of them MIG’s. I always say that though. [sigh]

yeah i tried to do a lot of research on the tools and things on this tank, but everything i came up with was the same base coat. maybe the plastic handles were green also.

Nice job!!! [tup][tup]

hey not too bad! The weathering is nice and subtle and looks genuine! I’m not a big fan of your periscope colour choices, but that doesn’t mean they’re not “correct”. I would show a little wear on the tools using some dark metal colours like gunmetal or something like that just to differentiate between the tool and the tank. Good job!

Nice job. It’s nice to see something different.

hiya chris[:D]-- looking real good there dude!-- and the update photo is even better[^]-- I am ashamed to say i had to ‘google’ the C-1 to learn about it , but am a wiser person for it![8-]–so thank you for that–the periscopes and sights are pretty interesting the way you did them–very gutsy-- have you ever heard of using a small piece of 35mm film cut to size for periscopes and such? --I may try that soon, or try your method if I can find a very dark reflective color-- maybe some piece of mylar or something – not sure yet-- very nice build my friend[:D]!-- tread[8D]-- nice to see something unusual also!!
