buying guide for an airbrush compressor

Hi all,

I’m new to scale modeling. I’d like to buy a compressor for my Testors Aztec A470 airbrush that I just bought. I don’t know anything about the kind of compressors used for airbrushing. So any recommendations? Is there a buying guide somewhere on this site? Thanks a lot.

Hello Shaun, Welcome to the forum. In the upper right hand corner of the screen you’ll see a box marked “Search the forum”. Put the search word “compressor” in and get ready for a little reading! LOL My compressor of choice by the way is the Badger 180-11. It is fairly quiet and provides even airflow. That top with the fact it has been working flawlessly for almost 20 years, has me sold me on this compressor.[;)]

First of all I would have to ask two questions:

  1. Will it be used for the airbrush only?

and

  1. How much are you willing to spend on one?
