Cleaning the house led me to discover a long-lost model!
It was my second model ever, my first non-snap-together model. Revell F-18. I put a few decals on it and obviously never painted it, but it is still missing the cockpit and the port landing gear. I propped it up on top of four quarters to get it sitting level:

Yeah, don’t do that to us old guys. I started out building a 59 cent Aurora B-47, followed by a 99 cent Revell F-104, still about the hottest thing in the sky then. It was probably about 1/55 scale, and the B-47 was probably about 1/164 – that’s how it was back then. The plane fit the box, not the other way around.

hahaha – My apologies to all the “old guys” who remember their first handful of models before the F-18 was even a concept in the minds of the designers. But it was a fun experience to go through the memories again!
But it’s strange to think that the “modern” jets were actually debuted in the late 70’s … lol, I really should shut up now.

Its neat to find those old models. My folks just sold their house that they had for 30 years. I went home to visit and my mom had just about every model, or every piece of model I had built. Talk about memories.
