Looks great, Liam!
The panel lines show nicely. How’d you do that?
I only see one pic, though. The top and bottoms pix are the red Xs!
That’s a sweet bird Liam!!! I really like the paint job…ditto on the other two pics though, they’re coming up blank for me.
Nice job, I saw two of the pics. Looks great!!!
All I see is two pictures, the Tomcat is not showing up.
Beautiful Phantom!
How was the kit itself?
Nice job on the Phantom, Liam.
Regards, Dan
excellent phantom
Great looking paint job! Too bad they don’t let them use the playboy bunny anymore.
Just “plane” gorgeous!
well done.

Great job on the Bunny Phantom. What did you use for the gloss black? The Tomcat isn’t posting on my screen, just the red X. Great work, keep em coming.
Hi ya yeehah12001 …
Outstanding Bunny Phantom … [bow] … thanks for sharing [swg]
simply beautiful, just beautiful. I love the way you expressed the panel lines with the negative effect.[:)][:)]

Hey Guys: Thanks for the huge praise!! If you check the top again, I think the links now work. I post to the rongeorge site and I guess there must have been a hitch with the posting. I have uploaded the images again and they seem to be there.
Now, for hte questions:
J-Hulk: The panel lines are a mix of Vallejo silvergrey, which I use as light aircraft grey, and a touch of silver. I thought white, which I have seen used, would be too stark and wanted something more subdued.
Erock68: The kit is really good, except for the obvious problem with the suckers. The cockpit is in sections so that you can pose it open or closed and it was a bit tricky to line up, but other than that, it’s a great kit to work on. Little or no filling/sanding. It was the Blue Angels kit and actually came with resin cans which are fantastic, much better than those provided with the kit.
Ajacketsfan: I had thought so, but apparently the bunny was put back onto the tail fin a few years after it was “removed”.
rjkplasticmod: the gloss black is Hycote Gloss Black (acrylic formulation) car paint. It’s suitable for use with acrylic or cellulose paint. A couple of coats of this to make it even, then a spray with Games Workshop 'Ardcoat. The 'Ardcaot is a gloss seal, and the more you spray, the glosser the finish. You need to be careful tho not ot overdo it as you don’t want to “fill-in” the panel lines.
The way I go is to paint the colour scheme first and seal it with the 'Ardcoat. Then comes the decals + 'Ardcoat, then the weathering/panel-lines + 'Ardcoat, and then, just cause this particular bird has a glossier than gloss finish, a final all-over spray with 'Ardcoat.
The Tomcat was done last year or so, before knew the true magic of 'Ardcoat and has only a kind of satin finish, but I might do another sometime.
I was delighted with how well the Phantom came out and am thinking of doing tjhe White Bunny…anyone have any info on this bird??
Thanks again for all the kind words.
Liam

By the way, I feel it’s really important to acknowledge the input of Oggy in the building of the Bunny. Oggy and I get together every week and build kits and he is, in my opinion a Phantom Freak and knows most everything, if not all, there is to know about Phantoms and has quite a collection of Phantoms made, half made and impatirntly awaiting to be built. He’s just finished a 1/32 Phantom as Showtime 100, complete with photo-etched parts and needs a bit of encouragement to post a photo or two.
This guy is my Jedi Master and if the Bunny and the Dog Sabre I recently posted look good, it’s all down to him and his advise and expertise.
Time for dinner.
