BULLET-RIDDLED, WEATHERED GANGSTER CARS

What is a good technique for turning an out-of-the-box car into a well-used, shoot-out damaged vehicle? I’m doing a diorama of two Chicago gangster (Capone) vehicles – like that bullet-riddled, dented, scratched-up condition these cars suffered.

I was just at the LHS and there was one 30’s period car withat least decals, I think, to replicate bullet holes. Here’s a link to a real car that was shot up, specifically, the Bonnie and Clyde car.
